Executive Leadership Training

What you should know

Leadership

"The best indicator of leadership greatness becoming someone that is seen by others as a role model."-

Choices:   Public Training or Private Training

  • Public Training:
  • What you can get in public through seminars and workshops.
  • Private Training:
  • What you want to work on in private. Your personal ideals and preferences may be something you want to keep confidential.

A Leader with his Team

Recommendation

1. PUBLIC TRAINING: Get effective leadership skills and concepts through workshops that target the areas of need.

2. PRIVATE TRAINING: Utilize ongoing consultant executive coaching to personalize and incorporate the skills you know and the ones you are learning.

Balance = Awareness + Capability + Reinforcement

When in doubt, begin with an assessment: Figure out where you are going by examining where you are.

Use a free coaching session to get started.

A 360 feedback survey can identify the best leadership style to fit your natural tendencies. It will clearly line out what you have going for you as well as where you should develop. Use a qualified consultant to step you through the 360 report and be aware of some tips for 360 assessment processing to keep in mind.

Then, search for executive leadership training that will address those areas.

No access to a 360 assessment? That's okay too. There are varied non-scientific approaches to getting a reading on your strengths and weaknesses without an expensive assessment. Leadership Workshops

For the PUBLIC part of your training

                Available Workshops & Online e-Courses

When looking for development executive leadership training, workshops generally follow one of two methodologies:

  • Overarching leadership skills that give you a range of fundamentals and a nice view of all the leadership skills required.
  • Specialty training that hones into a narrow specialty, such as public speaking seminar.

Your leader toolkit should have a nice balance of both, over a long period of time.

Don't overlook the fundamentals! The basics need regular refinement and practice.

Options for training should be carefully weighed before investing in a course.

Although I do not presently conduct training activities in the UK, I do know that extending your leadership capabilities can be done by phone coaching.  In-person trainings for the leader-manager are generally a terrific investment, once you locate the right consulting company.

Leadership Coaching

For the PRIVATE part of your training

The way to drive home all those techniques you are exposed to in an executive training seminar: executive and business performance coaching. A different leadership style requires adaptation of LEADERSHIP. The absolute best, most efficient, high impact approach to making those leadership skills work for you is to engage in executive coaching services.

Try coaching

And coaching has a track record now. It has proven statistics of success.

Coaching Myth #1: Successful people don't need coaches.

Myth Buster: "Professionals have coaches. Amateurs do not."

Susan Battley, Coached to Lead

Why coaching is so successful: it is like having your own tailor. For example, if you attended a public speaking seminar, chances are public speaking anxiety was addressed. Listening and learning is important. But rarely do we take the skill and immediately implement it successfully. It takes mental focus training. That's where your coach can work with you, practice, adjust, listen, refine.

An executive coaching consultant engages in a confidential partnership with you, coaching for improved work performance. The coaching development of executive leadership must be a customized approach to fit you. When coaching leadership styles, an experienced coach knows the difference between an autocratic leadership style, and a participative leadership style, the difference between someone with high self-awareness, and someone needing an eye-opener. Through powerful coaching sessions, you adjust your behaviors and actions to taking it to the next level.
