Maintaining the Currency of Praise
by: mission_command

Whilst I sympathise with this post and also recognise the coach as someone who is unsure and lacking in confidence a word about motivation from my experience.

Too much praise is never a good thing. Praise has to be earned - too much and it becomes too familiar; it loses its value.

Praise & optimism? There is a link - sometimes being too optimistic too frequently engenders distrust - it can actually reinforce feelings of pessimism in the target audience.

It's a subtle art - and browbeating your team... demonstrates a significant lack of experience.

Did the team ever win?!
