Think Your Job is Miserable?

New from Patrick Lencioni

If you are not already familiar with the name, Lencioni is a best-selling author and one of my personal favorites. All his books are easy reads and full of common-sense principles that actually work.

The Three Signs of a Miserable Job by Patrick Lencioni is no exception. It begins with a fable about a very successful leader who "semi-retires" but is compelled to assist a struggling pizza restaurant he happens upon and experiences terrible customer service.

Who hasn't done that? We have all run across poor attitudes and worse food and thought "If I was in charge of this place..." Well, in the story, we find out what might happen if we tried.

In his efforts to turn the restaurant around, our hero discovers the three things that make a job truly miserable. Turns out it's not about the work itself. Any episode of Dirty Jobs can prove that even people with crappy occupations can love them. It's about how fulfilled you are or are not at a job. And what it takes to be fulfilled.

I won't tell you the three signs, but I will say that they are universal and you will never regret buying and reading this book. So far, it has resonated with everyone I have recommended it to.

Happy reading and let us know what you think!
